The company, which today is called Plastor SA, was founded in 1914 as a small private enterprise producing staples and combs from natural materials. Nationalised during the communist years, the company was called “Viitorul” and was until 1990 the largest producer of toys in Romania. The company was privatised in 1994 and is still wholly owned by Romanians.

Now we are proud to say that we are one of the most important and experienced players on the plastics processing market in Romania. We manufacture plastic components for leading industrial sectors: the automotive industry, the electrical and electronic appliance industry and winter sports equipment. Our customers are renowned companies with locations all over the world.

Mould Injection

A fleet of 70 injection machines, with clamping forces ranging from 40 to 1300 tf, equip Plastor’s three specialised workshops, dedicated to the three market segments in which the company operates: production of automotive components, non-auto components and winter sports equipment. The machines are of German and Austrian manufacture (Arburg, Krauss-Maffei, Demag, Engel) and are mostly equipped with robots for extracting parts.

Blow Moulding

With more than 50 years of tradition, the blow-moulding activity is the second important plastics processing technology at Plastor. The company has 6 machines, of Italian production: Meico, Automa and Magic, with the possibility of producing parts from 3 to 30 liters. The materials processed are polyethylene, polypropylene, polypropylene with added elastomers and polyamide.

Assembling

The most complex production activity carried out at Plastor is the production of ski boots as part of a subcontracting activity. Started in 1993 through a collaboration for the production of ski boots with the French company Salomon, this activity has steadily developed over the years and Plastor is now also a supplier for the Austrian company Atomic.

Moulds

Injection and blow-moulding moulds are designed and manufactured for own and customer workshops. The programs used in the CAD/CAM activity are Creo, Cimatron and Delcam. The maximum dimensions of the moulds we can make are 1200 x 800 x 800 mm (4,5-5 tons). We offer our customers both participation in product development teams and full project management according to the APQP procedure (IATF 16949), up to validation of parts for series production.
